About Workshop
Immuno-proteomics makes an important contribution in the field of biomedical sciences. It is not only used for the discovery of auto antigens, but also for identification of various other differentially expressed proteins. This workshop will provide an overview on the importance of immuno-proteomic techniques to identify milieu of proteins in patient samples through understanding of antigen-antibody interactions. The hands-on training techniques will cover 2D-Gel Electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP) and validation via Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) etc.
Key focus of the symposium:
* Assorted lectures by reputed scientists/faculties on current trends of research
* Hands on training in various techniques
* Demonstration of various immunoproteomic experiments
About Organizer
Our research area focuses on proteomic analysis of inflammatory diseases primarily Arthritis, heart disease, diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders etc. We work in order to bring new clinically useful biomarkers which can diagnose the disease at early stage. It will help researchers in designing therapeutic moieties for clinical benefits. The lab also conducts in-silico and in-vivo studies of natural compounds for the therapy of inflammatory disorders.
About CSIR- IGIB
CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB) is a premier Institute of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-IGIB is rigorously engaged in research of national importance in the areas of genomics, molecular medicine, bioinformatics, proteomics and environmental biotechnology. Genomics and Molecular Medicine is the major research focus of IGIB. The IGIB group is also involved in studying the molecular basis of human diseases, Indian genome variation: discovery, functional relevance and application, Genome wide analysis of motifs and their functional role in gene expression, Prediction of microRNA-target interaction and studies of their biological significance. IGIB encourages novelty by hosting and providing support to investigators with prestigious fellowships who wish to be mentored with established groups at IGIB.
